My brother-in-law bought this as a gift for my mother in law. I was to fill up half of the memory with pictures of my family, and he was going to do the other half with his family. Only then do I find out you can’t access the internal memory. I don’t happen to have extra memory cards lying around to give away! The controls are terrible, on the back, and every time you tilt it forward to check which button you are pressing the power cord falls out. This unit will be returned promptly!

I bought this frame as a gift. Within an hour of plugging it in the frame had developed a mind of its own. It began switching pictures at whatever pace it felt like regardless of the “transition” settings. After shutting it down and restarting it- it would run maximum of 45 minutes before freezing on an arbitrary picture. I have to say Phillips costumer service was more than willing to send replacement frames. I went through 3 frames all exibiting the same bugs before a refund was submitted. I also tested internal memory and multiple sd cards to check if the memory was the problem, but it was the frame in the end. Outside of the flaws electornically. On a lesser note, the interface on the phillips frames are inefficient as well.

Pro’s:
-Very nice image quality. The images look as good (or bad) as they do on your computer.
-Setup is straightforward. Interface is easy to navigate.
-You can easily plug in a USB flash drive and view images.
Cons’s:
-NO INTERNAL MEMORY, NONE!! Plan on having a memory card plugged in at all times.
-Memory card slots are poorly designed, insertion is via wiggling the cards in and out (no ‘click’ to know it is in place).
-All the controls are on the back, which isn’t very convenient (=no touchscreen).
-No remote control.
-Appearance isn’t great. Its a white laquer finish, which is fine, but the frame portion (outside of the image) is too large and obtrusive. It makes the whole unit unnecessarily bulky.
Bottom line: With other comparable models offering features like internal memory, touchscreen, remote control and even wi-fi, this model really only offers a decent display.
I’m returning it for a Sony.
